February is now over and it's time to update on my goals for the year. Here's how I did in January.
NaDell's Goals for 2013
1. Read books and magazines that inspire me spiritually as well as intellectually.
I finished the Ensign and Friend magazines from August and September of last year. I hope to be caught up before April's conference.
I've am still reading more of "Boxcar Children", "Little House on the Prairie", and "Bobbsey Twins".
Elizabeth and I just finished reading "NERDS-National Espionage, Rescue, and Defense Society" by Michael Buckley for our mother-daughter book group. It's a good one for her age group (10)
Andy and I are at the letter D section in our reading of the Bible Dictionary one page a night.
Need to work on more family scripture study time.
2. More family exercise.
Olivia and Elizabeth go walking with me sometimes. We walked home from the McTeacher Night on Monday when it was 44 degrees and windy and two miles. We walked quickly though and it was good for us.
I walked/ran a few times alone, and even walked 3.5 miles home from our church building one Saturday morning after we helped clean the church.
Andy and I started walking around the school nearby a few times a week after Vincent and Abby are asleep and the bigger girls are occupied. We are close and I have my cell phone and they both have my number memorized. We aren't gone more than twenty minutes. Responsibility is a good thing. We are getting ready for the Pioneer Trek Reenactment that our Stake is doing in June because Andy and I are going to be a Pa and Ma.
I had a physical from a general doctor this past week and he says I'm doing well, so that's good. (Had to have a physical to go on the Trek.)
I gained a little weight back this month, but I'm finally back down to my (most recent) lowest weight. I still have 15 pounds to go until I can just sustain the weight loss and I'll be happy with that. Eat less, Move more is a big motto of mine (and Dr. Laura!) and My Fitness Pal is helping me stick to it.
3. TEMPLE with Andy monthly.
Our buddy Nathan kindly babysat for us again on a Saturday afternoon and then joined us to eat some pizza for dinner. We did initiatories again and are finding that we enjoy the change (and the helping more people and a little less time involved.)
4. Catch up my family scrapbooks.
February's goal was to organize the pictures and papers (invites, cards, etc.) that I already have ready to go. I also renamed the picture files on the computer from the end of 2012 so that when I have them printed, they will have the file name (date) printed on the back (Winkflash does that.) I still need to work on the pictures from summer 2012 and then I'll be about ready to print them all.
How are your goals?
